Window Tint FAQ

What is a SnapTint kit?

Professional window film cut to fit each window of your vehicle, so you don't trim film on the glass. You choose the kit (complete, back, front or rear windshield), the film and the shade for each group of windows.

Which films do you use?

Professional-grade films, including Solar Gard and SunTek for home and office, and our HP series for cars. See each product page for details.

How much does it cost?

Car kits start at $24.95 for the front windows; a complete kit is $54.95 to $94.95 depending on the size of the vehicle. Home film starts at $2.15 per square foot.

Can I get samples?

Yes. Order film samples to see the shade and color in person before you buy.

Does reflective film give privacy at night?

Not with the lights on inside: reflective film mirrors whichever side is brighter, so after dark the view reverses. Frosted film hides the view day and night. Why, and what to use instead.

Will window film cut glare on my TV or screens?

Yes. Solar films cut 50–85% of glare depending on the shade, and keep your view. How to pick a glare film.

Which window film should I buy for my home?

Pick by the problem: heat, glare, privacy, fading or a frosted look each call for a different film, and the darkest film is rarely the answer. The home window film buying guide matches each one to our films.

Can I put film on double-pane or low-E glass?

Yes, with the right film. Dark absorbing films can stress the glass; reflective and exterior films are the safe choices. Which of our films are low risk on each kind of glass.

Which car tint shade should I choose?

Most people pick 35% for the front side windows where it's legal and 20% behind. What each shade looks like, night driving and your state's limit.

Is static cling film good enough?

For a short-term fix, or to try a look, yes. Over time it collects dust specks, and most brands publish no heat or UV figures; adhesive film stays clear for years. The cheaper DIY options compared.

How hard is it to install?

Most people finish a car in an afternoon. Watch our installation videos and read the step-by-step guide; for house windows, how to install home window film. Bubbles, haze or a lifted edge? What's normal and what to fix.

How do I clean tinted windows?

Wait at least three days after installing, then use mild soap and water or an ammonia-free cleaner with a soft cloth. Never use abrasives or razor blades on the film.

Is my shade legal?

Tint limits differ by state, especially for the front side windows. Check your state's current rules before choosing a dark front shade.

What if I damage a piece?

You can order a single replacement window for $9.99. See our returns and replacement policy.
