How to Measure Your Windows
Home and office film is cut to the sizes you enter and priced by the square foot. A few minutes with a tape measure is all it takes.
What you need
- A steel tape measure marked in inches (1/8 inch marks are enough).
- Paper and pen, or your phone, to note each window.
1. Measure the visible glass
Measure the glass you can see, from edge to edge inside the frame or rubber seal: first the width, then the height. Measure each piece of glass on its own, and write down which window it is.
2. Enter the size you measured
On the film's page, enter each window's width and height in inches. We cut the film to exactly the size you enter, so enter your measurement as it is. If a window is unusual (curved glass, stickers or old film on it, an odd shape), add a note in Instructions or call us first.
3. Round shapes
- Circle: choose Circle and enter the diameter as both width and height.
- Half-circle: choose Half-Circle, enter the straight bottom edge as the width and the height from the bottom edge to the top of the arch.
How the price works
Each window's area is width × height ÷ 144 square feet, rounded up to the next whole square foot, times the film's price per square foot. For example, a 30 × 40 inch window is 8.3 square feet, so it is priced as 9.
